Nutrition Services

Imagine...

You're a citizen of Monroe or Owen County, 55 years or older, and it's almost noon and time for lunch. You're not quite able to prepare an entire meal by yourself. Maybe you'll just skip lunch today.

Let Area 10 Agency on Aging provide a change of pace through our
Nutrition Services Program, one of our In-Home Services. Our hot, nutritious meals
are served Monday through Friday at our five nutrition sites:

At these sites we ask for a $2.25 donation from those 55 and older. Others are welcome to join us and pay $5.00 a meal. $0.60 additional is requested for diabetic meals. We also deliver our hot meals right to your door, for $5.00 a meal. If you have need, our case managers can arrange for persons over 55 to make a suggested $2.00 donation instead. Our Nutrition Services staff respond to each person's needs to ensure that you or that special someone receives a hot, well-balanced meal. Middleway House in Bloomington and Ellettsville provide the catering.

What You Do
It's easy! To sign up, call Area 10 to sign up and ask about our Nutrition Services.

What We Do For You
The Area 10 staff member who receives your call gives information to the Nutrition Director. Case Managers contact the homebound person and help arrange services with the Nutrition Director, who orders and arranges meal deliveries. A Meal Delivery volunteer will begin making meal deliveries to the home, or you can begin eating at one of the congregate sites.
