Our Purpose
The purpose of Area 10 Agency on Aging's In-Home Services Program is to develop  a wide spectrum of coordinated, comprehensive, in-home support services for  frail, elderly, and disabled persons.

We recognize that the elderly population is increasing and their needs are growing. We are dedicated to helping area residents maintain  a quality lifestyle and wish to reach those needing information or assistance.

Our services are for all seniors, but we target limited-income persons,  minorities, isolated individuals, memory-impaired elders, and other vulnerable persons  who are at risk of institutionalization without these services. In addition, we  help families cope with responsibilities through information and referral to  support groups and respite care programs. Please contact us if you or anyone  you know can benefit from our programs.

Availability
Specially trained case managers, including registered nurses and social workers,  are available to aid you in determining the in-home services that can assure  safety and security in the home. Once services are identified, a case  manager and other Area 10 staff will work on your behalf to obtain and maintain  the services you need.

Case managers assist the frail elderly and disabled by:

  • Arranging for the services needed to maintain independence and fulfill
    daily needs.
  • Reference, if necessary, to legal services, emergency food and housing,  trustees, Social Security, Veterans' Administration, Welfare, Medicaid, and other  community and social services.
  • Assistance in filling out applications for:
    • Food Stamps
    • Medicare
    • Medicaid
    • Social Security
    • Medical insurance
    • Trustee assistance
    • Subsidized housing

You can help by volunteering with Area 10's In-Home Services. Please contact us for  more information or sign up online. Help a friend by telling them about Area  10's services.
