County Routes

Rural Transit's County Routes link rural areas with towns.  Use the County Routes to:

• Go shopping at the mall, the drugstore, or the grocery
• See your doctor or insurance agent
• Have fun at McCormick's Creek, Lake Lemon, or in town
• Visit friends or run errands
• Connect with Express Services and ride into Spencer, Ellettsville or Bloomington
• Link up with Bloomington Transit, Bedford & Mitchell Transit, or the IU Buses.

To Schedule a Ride
Rural Transit's county routes are on a pre-scheduled basis.  To schedule a ride, call the RT office at least 24 hours in advance of your trip.  Wheelchair lift equipped services for the disabled are available upon request.

Monroe County Routes

• Region A
  Ellettsville, Stinesville, Mt. Tabor, Washington & Modesto
  Monday, Wednesday or Friday, visit Richland and Bean Blossom Townships.  Meet friends at the nutrition site or join the shopping trip to Bloomington on Thursday.
  
• Region B
  Unionville, New Unionville, Hindustan, Lake Lemon & Dolan
  Schedule round trip service to and within Benton or Washington Township, including the nutrition site and Bloomington shopping locations on Thursday.
  
• Region C
  Stanford, Victor, Kirksville, & Harrodsburg
  Thursday offers round-trip service between Bloomington, Van Buren, Perry & Indian Creek townships.
  
• Region D
  Smithville, Harrodsburg, Sanders, & Clear Creek
  On Wednesday, travel round-trip between Perry, Clear Creek, Polk, and Salt Creek townships.  Picnic at the Fairfax area of Lake Monroe.  Shop in Bloomington on Wednesday.

Owen County Routes

• Region E
  Cunot, Cloverdale, Quincy, Devore, & Jordan Village
  Visit Jennings, Jackson, Morgan, Taylor, Montgomery and Washington townships, including Cataract Falls, Lake Leiber or Bloomington on Tuesday.
  
• Region F
  Gosport, Ramona, Carp, Cuba, & Atkinsonville
  Canoe the White River, shop in Gosport or Spencer, eat at the Spencer nutrition site or visit Harrison, Montgomery, Washington and Wayne townships Tuesday or Thursday.  Travel to Bloomington on Tuesday.
  
• Region G
  Patricksburg, Vandalia & Coal City
  Get to Patricksburg, Coal City, the Spencer nutrition site and Jefferson townships on Tuesday.  Shop in Spencer on Thursday or in Bloomington on Tuesday.
  
• Region H
  Freedom, Freeman, New Hope & Spencer
  Tuesday and Thursday go round-trip between Washington, Clay and Franklin townships. Monday through Friday send your children between public pre-school and kindergarten.  Shop, visit friends, or attend activities at the senior center daily.  Tuesday, plan errands or fun in Bloomington. Shop in Spencer on Thursdays.

Lawrence County Routes

• Monday through Friday
  8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. door to door service for the entire county and linking with Bedford and Mitchell Public Transit for county-wide and city transit services.
  
• Wednesday Only
  8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. door to door service for a round-trip service from Lawrence County to Bloomington, starting south through Mitchell, Bedford to Bloomington, serving all towns along route Old 37, including Oolitic, Avoca, Needmore and Harrodsburg. Service to Veteran's Clinic and medical parks, IU, East and West Malls of Bloomington and much more
